Plug it into an outlet within a few feet of the box, ideally on the wall above it. Press the button once; a soft indicator light shows it’s on. Leave it running around the clock. If the nearest outlet is further away, a basic indoor extension cord closes the gap. There’s nothing to refill, so the only upkeep is wiping the unit and the wall behind it every few weeks.

There’s no fragrance, no spray and no heat. Nothing is added to your air except charged ions, the same thing the air carries after rain. There’s no scent for a sensitive cat to reject the box over, no fan and no moving parts. The light is soft and steady. Most cats never register that it’s there.

Ionizers make a trace of ozone as a by-product, so we won’t tell you it’s zero. Revella Air runs on about 1 watt, which puts it in a different category from ozone generators, which are built to flood a room and should never run around pets.
